I had been to a company in Ramanujan IT Park (The one next to Tidel Park). The experience in the company was good, but the same couldn’t be said about the journey to the same, not because of human interaction but more so because of the architectural design mess.
The building is great but i couldn’t help notice the chaos outside the building. I am sure the builders were well aware of the 30ft road outside, inspite of which the massive complex has a single entry / exit system. So technically people are going round and round wasting fuel. Even smaller things like, the location where pedestrian way from the grand steps that leads you to the Car entrance, the final flight of stairs could be more straight than having to do that ziggy in the end.
The flow and everything looks good when everybody is at the desk. But at lunch time, the ground floor looks like the grand central station. Possibly because of no floor level open recreation space. I had to get to the Hardy Hall and i couldn’t help but think about the Irony of the Hardy tower in the Ramanujan IT Park, named after men who gave the world a whole lot of theta functions, if they would approve of this mess.
The normal narrative is always as Le Corbusier says “Form follows function” but in this case, Function seems to follow the form …
