chennai airport traffic decongestion & mtc
Posted on May 1st, 2010 by daniel robinson
we have been working on a very interesting project at city connect. the end idea being to reduce the number of cars and move them to public transport system. the process was to start measuring the traffic that the airport is feeding into the gst road.
you would be surprised at the numbers and the profound impact sorting this issue can have on the gst road. and this data so far has been worked out only for the domestic terminal and yet to move into the international terminal!
based on this data we are working with the MTC to operate buses out of the airport. so there should be some reduction in traffic on the roads!!
at 60% load factor we are still talking of removing 90000 cars off gst in a week’s time.
