In Response: Snoberry of IPL

This entry is part 2 of 2 in the series in-response

This post is in response to Sush’s post Snoberry of IPL

first lets accept that India and Pakistan were never at peace and with cricket being a religion in India there is no way you can expect the spheres of influence of politics and cricket to not coincide.

having said that it is important that you see the current issue within the larger context of the political moves in India. The infiltration along the LOC is higher than usual and if there is even a slight incidence of an attack anywhere in India, this time India may not be silent over the issue nor may listen to the pressures of uncle Sam. So this may be a cue of what is to come militarily!!! :(

If you see the split of roles in Home ministry, CCT and the NSA you will realise that our leadership wants to confront the problem, rather than lie low. All indications point to it. India’s defence budget for new acquisitions has increased in double digits. Indian troop deployment along LOC is slowly but steadily increasing.

So we may want to wait and see where it fits within the larger scheme of India’s diplomatic moves.
