Just Askin’ – The banker to this Indian – Was the customer’s permission taken?

You should have seen the recent series of ads of SBI which talks about Motilal Nehru, one of the early Indian independence activists, Sardar Patel, architect of the integrity of India, Jagdishchandra Bose, an eminent Indian scientist, Dadabhai Navroji, founder of Indian National Congress for independence of India, Rabindranath Tagore, literature Nobel Laureate, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Independent India’s first President, M Visvesvaraya, Engineer and Statesman.

Good work by the ad agency no doubt as Milind says in his blog but makes you wonder if under the rules of Non-Disclosure, is a bank allowed to publicly declare its account holders name? Or did SBI take permission from their legal heirs to use their name for commercial ads?
