26/11

Its been a year, hardly believable! Considering the fact that we have so  used to Hemant Kakare’s pictures on papers so many times! His wife making petitions! Pictures of the famous Taj! The infamous Kasab! Scenes of people running down the streets! NSG commando fights! and slowly things a moving into oblivion!

In an article i read recently, there was this story of a couple who were unlucky enough to be in the cities 9/11(Newyork), 7/11(London) and 26/11 (Mumbai) when it happened. and the couple noted that Mumbai sprung back to normalcy faster than the rest of the cities.

I have always felt whether this is an evidence of our ability to obsorb shocks or merely our apathy or more trendily branded as the spirit of mumbai! after all after 9/11 nyse halted trading for 2 days but after the 91 mumbai blasts. the newspapers read ‘sensex roars back!’

personal disclaimer

i must say here that i have for some years now, had an unfair negative bias on mumbai for personal reasons, so i tend to view this as a character reflection of the city! which may be grossly untrue. no personal hurts intended.
