The French have today enacted a law that would have a person have their net connection disconnected if they access illegal or handle pirated content 3 times! Not sure how it is going to be implemented, cause there would be a series of blocker programs, but then this sure is the way to go in the future!

Even before the Global credit crisis, the media industry has been going through a turmoil, largely caused because of the spread of News through non-licenced online sources. Maybe the French enactment can be a lead for the media industry to protect itself!
