Republic of Nepal – History happening next doors! :)

For us back in India, little are we realising that our neighbour state of Nepal is undergoing the same radical change that India went throught in 1950. From a Monarchy to Democracy.

India’s reaction to this big change is closely being watched especially considering the historical good ties that India has had with the Monarchy at Nepal.  That apart, how much of good can democracy do to a country? If you were to talk to Indians in India you would say nothing at all, but i recently had a good luck of talking to my Chinese tutor who also happens to a Tibetian. He was all awe for the Indian democracy that allows the Dalai Lama in Himachal Pradesh and also sends a strong anti-humanitarian warning signal to China. And what he said made me feel so great about the wonder of our democracy!

Now am i aligning communism and Monarchy! in many ways their systems of operation and very similar to each other! More autocratic and monopolised views!

A country! for the people! by the people! of the people! (guess i got the order incorrect) ;) What a system! Talking over email to a NGO volunteer friend of mine i had the same views echoing in her script…. India is the most complex democracy there is! and lets be proud of it!

A multi-party, culturally diverse, 28 stated progressive democracy! wow never realised that we are what we are!!!! So many languages! So many indigenous tribes… hooh! i can’t help but get patriotic about this :)

And now here we are are having a new neighbour entering that areana! Great work Nepal!
