Why is a spy satellite not a spy satellite anymore!

To start with, A spy satellite is a reconnaissance satellite as ‘they’ call it to score political safe term. How come a country can in the first place launch a spy machinery over another country? Does not the space above a country belong to the country? So on some reading there was this culprit! It says the outer space does not belong to anyone (read between) Finer print says, america has the right of way to use outer space. the terms of the legislation are not clear nor is it endorsed by the UN but then again, the US has control over everything that it feels has the ability to threaten its security and that is ratified by the american congress. nothing more to add on that.

Now recently in the news it said that india has successfully launched an israeli spy staellite to spy on iran! now why on earth should india do such a thing especially when India is a very strong NAM ideologist! Why launch it itself, a debatable question but why make it news!!!! In the current political backdrop why is india distancing itself with Iran, also considering the CNG pipeline that is planned between Iran-India.

A pro american policy is fine but again limitations and restrictions and NAM ideology is the stand that India’s explicit foreign policy needs to be. Just my view! But thats my view. :) Our economic intrests is what should be of greater priority when considering matters of policy importance.
