Foreign delegations, PM’s and Presidents of other countries sure know how to touch the hearts of Indians on their trip to India! Now Prime Minister Gordon Brown who was recently in India was talking of recommending India to the UNSC permanent seat which made him friend of a billion in one statement! But was he talking about the seat along with a veto power? No he was not! Was he talking of actually when and where he would raise this point and willing to confirm by writing that? No! Then what’s the point? Every once in a while somebody makes this statement like a ballon with just air in it and our Media agencies go all Ga! Ga! over it!

its always in the news! china supports! us supports! uk supports! japan supports! then who is actually opposing india’s unsc bid? maybe media should answer this?!!!!

He comes here and talks of recommending the name of Sachin to a British Title! No offense to Sachin here!, but should not the PM be doing more people friendly measures rather than VIP friendly measures when he wants to talk of bilateral ties!!! He sure knows how to do business in India! If you didn’t know this, Indian Visa applications to the UK are being rejected Left, right and center. They have their reasons and i fully concur with theirs. But this VIP diplomacy does little more than actually progress in real terms.

I was reminded of the Sania Mirza comment that George W Bush made when he visited Hyderabad on his state visit. No offense here again to the deliverers here. But should not the Indian government and the media look between the lines?
